Shelly Morash- Massage therapy

Shelly has a special interest in sport related injuries, chronic pain, acute pain, muscular imbalances and preventative care. Her 10 years of clinical experience working as a physiotherapist assistant and occupational therapist assistant prior to massage makes her ideal for treating conditions and injuries to a diverse population.

 

Shelly is pursuing her Certification in Sport Massage through the Canadian Sport Massage Therapy Association. She is currently focusing her time on collecting on-field experience offering pre/post sport massage.

 

Shelly is a resident of Enfield, and enjoys hiking, biking, volunteering and spending time with her family.

WHAT IS MASSAGE THERAPY?

Massage therapy is the practice of kneading or manipulating a person’s muscles and other soft-tissue in order to improve their wellbeing or health. It is a form of manual therapy that includes holding, moving, and applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.

 

The term ‘massage therapy’ is used to describe a wide variety of techniques that vary in the manner in which touch, pressure and the intensity of the treatment is applied.

WHAT IS SPORT MASSAGE THERAPY?

Generally, sports massage is a preventive therapy that addresses muscle symmetry, tone, and balance, as well as range of motion. Sports Massage Therapist manipulate soft tissue to reduce pain and tension and improve muscle condition and range of motion.  When analyzing and treating a person’s injury or symptoms, a Sport Massage Therapist studies root causes carefully, as an injury to one part of the body may be connected to another. This therapy often pairs massage with complimentary stretching and movement.
